Mercury Bus

Size: 40” x 30”
Bricolage- monoprint, pastel, acrylic, printed paper.

For Sale: inquiries welcome please email me

This artwork is about mercury pollution. Mercury is a dangerous toxin that is polluting our water and air. One of the primary sources for this pollution is from coal burning power plants. Mercury from these sources accumulates in fish and wildlife. Through consumption spread through the food chain and causes serious health problems for fish, wildlife and humans. Government regulations are weak in addressing the quantity of toxins released from the power plants.
In this artwork I use an image of a school bus and schools of fish as a metaphor for the connection between man and the environment. Women and children are the most vulnerable group in our population for mercury contamination through consumption. This is an issue I feel strongly about and want for stronger regulations on air pollution.
I am providing a link to join me in supporting legislators who want to make clean air regulation tougher. Please send a free message to your Senators urging them to crack down on the largest U.S. source of mercury emissions - power plants. Will you join me?

Forgotten

Size: 12” x 18”
Bricolage- lithograph, digital print and acrylic.

For Sale: inquiries welcome please email me

Forgotten is meant to express ideas about isolation, society, family. How these idea create an individuals role in social relationships. In this piece I focused on the idea of nesting. Nesting is a structure or place made or chosen by a bird for laying eggs and sheltering its young. It is about shelter and seeking protection from the outside forces. We all are nesting, like birds we group together or apart from one and other. No matter the culture or origin we all share human characteristics of wanting and belonging in a safe place.
